This occurred in Cedar Rapids, IA. I'm not sure why this site has listed the location as Omaha, NE, in the title. Thanks.

I took my vehicle into a Firestone location in Cedar Rapids, IA, (10th Street SE). After doing the full vehicle inspection, it was recommended that i get an alignment done.

So, I paid for the lifetime alignment.

After leaving, my vehicle still didn't feel right, so i took it to a different Firestone location in Cedar Rapids, IA, (1st Ave NE). At this location, i was told that i needed to get the ball joints replaced immediately, inner and out tie rods, and pads, rotors, and calipers, on the front brakes. Along with the fact that there was now a mystery wire that was attached to the ECM that was running to an unknown location, but that the Firestone guys would be will to take care of for an additional $65.00.

When it was all said and done, i was quoted a figure of roughly $2300. I took the advice of the manager and paid to have the ball joints replaced that day.

After leaving, my vehicle still feels the same, so i took it to a Goodyear location in Cedar Rapids, IA, and after their inspection, which they literally walked me through, I was told that the issue was with the power steering gear.

There were no issues found with the suspension or brakes.

Clearly, i was happy to have the problem finally diagnosed and properly fixed. However, I am very disappointed about the wasted time and wasted money that were incurred during my dealings with Firestone.

Reason of review: Not as described/ advertised.

Monetary Loss: $1000.

Preferred solution: Full refund.

Never trust Firestone - they just want to build their sales.
